Dental Practice Doubles in Size Officially Opens (posted on 09.02.2015)

Prospective Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Rishi Sunak officially opened the extended Alpha Dental Studio at CATTERICK GARRISON on Thursday evening. The NHS & Private Dental Group has expanded the former William Hill Bookmakers next door to its existing practice on Hildyard Row in a move that has almost doubled its available space. The company have invested over £70,000 on the refurbishment and have expanded by over 1,000 square feet which is now two new surgeries as well as a treatment room for facial aesthetics. Alpha’s expansion will enable the company to meet the growing demand for its services in the area. The company currently employs over 65 people across North Yorkshire and the north east. Some of the additional space has allowed for a new patient treatment room for sedation and facial aesthetics as well as providing a spacious new patient lounge. Mr Sunak alongside 40 guests celebrated the opening of the expanded surgery. Mr Sunak said, “This is a business that is about helping people. From local people living in the Dales to our soldiers’ families at Catterick Garrison, this company plays a vital part in our healthcare. I grew up in an NHS family, with a GP dad and local chemist for a mum, so I know first-hand the effort and care that businesses like this put in to taking care of their patients. But there is an important national story too. Small and medium size enterprises like Alpha Dental are the backbone of our local economy and drive our national prosperity. They account for 60% of private sector employment in this country. What is more, businesses like this provide quality training for our young people to become high skilled professionals. Alpha is to be commended training 6 new graduate dentists in recent years. Mr Sunak continued, “This maybe a community driven business but it is also a top quality business, setting standards in service, patient care, and innovation. Congratulations to the whole team on fantastic achievement! ” Ian Gordon, Dentist and Senior Partner of the Alpha Dental Group said: “The Catterick team led by David Birkin has transformed the practice creating a state of the art facility – my thanks to all of them but especially to Dave Peacock and Charlie Walker who converted and fitted out the practice.” “I am very grateful to Rishi Sunak for supporting us last Thursday – he clearly understands the challenges faced by small and medium businesses like ourselves and has family who still work in primary NHS care – this was very evident from the supportive comments he made showing he is a politician who has had a career in business not a career politician” New patients can register with the practice by telephoning the practice on 01748832 802.
